Who are you vs. Who do you want to be?

Close your eyes for a second and imagine the best version of yourself possible. What does it looks like? Where are you? Who is beside you? What demeanor do you have? Are you happy or not? How different is it from who/what/where you are now? Why?

Everyone has an image of who they want to be, but is anyone that person?

In order to be that person the only way you can transform is a step by step process that YOU initiate. Break it down for yourself. What do you need to change to be that person? Is it your attitude? Is it your eating habits? Is it who you spend time with?

You get to decide how you live and what life you get. You are not born with your life, it is made through the decisions you make, and actions you take. Yes sure, your experience plays a part, but whatever has happened can’t be changed. It is your mind set in the present that will shape you now and in the future.

Maybe you don’t know who you want to be and what that looks like. But do you have people you look up to? If the answer is yes, then ask yourself what it is about those people you relate to and why they resonate with you. You’re one step closer if you have an idol or an inspiration.

The only way you can be the person you envision is to understand what will get you there.

So just for some inspo here are four of some of the most inspirational people around the world’s quotes.

  1. Ellen DeGeneres

“While I was doing stand-up, I thought I knew for sure that success meant getting everyone to like me. So I became whoever I thought people wanted me to be. I’d say yes when I wanted to say no, and I even wore a few dresses.”

  1. Tony Robbins

“The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives”.

  1. Deepak Chopra

“There are no extra pieces in the universe. Everyone is here because he or she has a place to fill, and every piece must fit itself into the big jigsaw puzzle.”

  1. Margaret Thatcher

“You might have to fight a battle more than once to win it”

  1. Steve Jobs

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.
