Pour yourself a cuppa and let us tell you why it’s so good for you (5 on Friday)

So, you wake up to 2 degree weather on these wintery mornings and the only thing that warms you up from the inside is a big, hot cup of freshly brewed tea.

Well, keeping you warm isn’t the only thing tea is good for. Did you know about the other health benefits of tea? If not read on…and if so, still read on 😀

  1. Tea contains antioxidants!

Antioxidants occur naturally in plant-based foods and help to prevent oxidisation in the body (the body’s version of rust). Oxidants are free radicals that you find in the environment, and they can also be produced in the body. ANTIoxidants prevent damage that the oxidants may cause.

  1. Tea has less caffeine than coffee

This means that you can consume it without having those energy slumps you get once coffee wears of.

  1. Herbal tea can assist in soothing your digestive system

Ginger tea can calm nausea, peppermint tea can help stomach aches and chamomile can help with stomach cramps.

  1. Some teas are anti-inflammatory

Try Peppermint, Cinnamon, Liquorice root and Turmeric

  1. Tea is hydrating!

It counts towards your water intake which lots of people struggle to reach. So if you’re one of those people that struggles to drink water, try iced tea for a healthy flavoured alternative.

Happy sipping ☕️
